Worldwide Properties is Celebrating 10 Years of Real Estate Excellence in Miami, Miami Beach, and the surrounding South Florida areas.

 Worldwide Properties Established in 2008

Broker, Owner J. Eddy Martinez along with co-founder Roland Ortiz, inaugurated Worldwide Properties in September of 2008 in the middle of the Great Recession when others were exiting the industry and companies and some banks were closing shop. “One of my favorite Chinese proverbs says: ‘With catastrophe comes opportunity, Martinez said. Eddy and Roland’s goal was to reposition distressed assets providing sound investments for their clients, which is exactly what they did. The two had the uncanny ability to tee up high-end condominium bulk sales to local overseas investors including publicly traded companies in Israel. Some notable Worldwide Properties trades brokered during the recession was a Block of 28 condos at the newly constructed Marquis Tower in downtown Miami, an entire condo tower in Coral Gables, The Ponce de Leon condo, comprised of 58 units and a condo package of 48 units at the Flamingo condo-conversion in South Beach.

Eddy and Roland started their Real Estate careers nearly 20 years ago in general real estate sales and marketing. They both shifted to development sales when Miami and Miami Beach had a surge in pre-construction projects in 1999 through about 2004. Working close with several Developers, Eddy & Roland handled a high-volume amount of Miami real estate sales executing on-site and off-site closings. The unit count Sold surpassed over 2,000 condos including Paramount Bay, Caribbean Miami Beach, Marquis Miami, Villazur and Vilammoor Miami Beach, Le Cite Edgewater, The Flamingo South Beach and The Tides Hollywood Beach. This intensive volume of negotiations and sales execution would pave the way for Worldwide Properties to flourish providing continued excellence in Real Estate Services to its loyal database of National and International clientele and co-agents alike for years to come.

 South of Fifth Growth Spurs Need for Specialized Real Estate Services

Buildings such as Portofino and Murano Portofino located in the South of Fifth were the catalyst of the SoFi transformation, and opened doors for other developers in the SOFI area and establishing a new high-end and affluent enclave that we know today. This was a very exciting time for Miami Beach as well as Downtown Miami.

Continuum South Beach, Icon South Beach, Murano Grande where developed shortly after and shaped South of Fifth into the most desirable area in Miami Beach today.

The Financial Crisis of 2007

In 2007 during the Housing Market Crash Eddy & Roland’s prior Clientelle reached out seeking assistance to support their Real Estate investments including covering the monthly expenses during this difficult financial time.

This crisis prompted Martinez to establish Worldwide Properties as a Real Estate Consulting Firm working closely with investors on the buyer side negotiating great investments and assisting owners who no longer wanted to hold their real estate assets. Eddy and Roland developed a short-sale division in which an excess of 500 short sales was successfully transacted, alleviating a major burden for their clients.

During this time, Eddy and Roland also guided absentee homeowners who didn’t want to unload their assets in a down market through the Property Management process, generating income to their clients, avoid short sale or foreclosure.  Through proper staging and carefully managing these Miami properties, Worldwide was able to assist many clients to avoid a negative outcome between 2008 – 2010.

 Property Management Niche allows Worldwide to Grow to 25 Agents

Within 3 years, Worldwide Properties grew to a team of over 25 agents operating as one of the only Miami Brokerages specializing in assisting owners to generate income to sustain their properties rather than liquidate in such difficult times.

Worldwide not only helped individual homeowners but Investors holding large portfolios as well. Negotiating Bulk Sale deals for investors who wanted to further expand their portfolios.

Worldwide Properties Establishes Foothold as its Second Branch in the South of Fifth 

Located at 225 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach in the heart of SOFI Worldwide Properties remains a Top Brokerage today assisting both Sellers and Buyers with Luxury Miami real estate whether it be new construction of waterfront homes, condos or in the commercial sector of Multifamily and hospitality assets, including assembling land or reversing condominiums into one folio apartment buildings.
